My first project of the fall........

and while it should be cleaning my house..........it's not, it's something much cuter and much more fun!
Now that the weather is cooler, I've really felt like sewing and crafting again. I didn't do much over the summer with the heat, the girls home and camping. Oh, I didn't realize how much I missed my machine and glue gun.
A couple of weeks ago, I purchased the Molly Peasant Dress pattern from YCMT. When I first saw it here , I thought it was adorable and fell in love with it. It came out so cute and is one of the easiest patterns I have ever worked with-so, so, so much easier than patterns from the big pattern companies. The instructions are very clear and straightfoward. It really was a fun pattern to work on!!
My 6 year old loves her dress and it looks so cute with leggings under it.
Now, she's suppose to have yellow leggings on that I got from Lands End for 50% off the sale price-score! but do you think I could find them the day she wore this to school-of course not, they are in this house somewhere though-she tried them on with the dress-but where is the question! I'm sure in a couple of days, I'll walk into a room or open a drawer and remember oh yeah, that's where I put them and I'll remember why I put them there and why it was such a good idea at the time.
Maybe it's too bad this post isn't about fall cleaning, because maybe I would have found the leggings.

Summer Memories........

so sweet.......
The girls are back in school and you can feel a definite change in the weather, still warm during the day but much cooler at night.......

summer is winding down and so is Picnic Table Talk at ABC and 123.
Today's Picnic Table Talk is a Summer Wrap Up.
The girls and I had a great time looking through all our pictures from the summer and remembering all our fun. Oh, it wasn't always peaches and roses but we had a great summer and none of us want it to end. We're lucky we have another camping trip to look forward to this Labor Day Weekend-yeah!
Our summer started with my oldest daughter's 6th grade graduation. We had softball and tball, lots of camping, biking, ice cream and playing outside. We camped at the beach for a week and went to Hershey Park for another week. We went to the zoo and played mini golf. We even went to see a house being built for Extreme Makeover Home Edition, met one of the designers and got interviewed by the local news. It was busy, wonderful summer and a whole lot of fun!!
Here's to a great autumn!!
See what everyone else has been up to this summer at the final Picnic Table Talk of the season. There'll still be more sharing on ABC and 123 with Show and Tell Saturday-can't wait!!

Aaaahhhhh....Can you hear that.......

it's the sound of silence.......

Yesterday was the first day of school for my 3 oldest girls - today my 4 year old started afternoon preschool.......the baby is napping.........it is so quiet here...........pure bliss!

Now, I didn't want school to start-I don't, don't, don't want summer to end-I don't want to get up at 5:30 to wake my oldest for school (there's something very, very wrong with having to be picked up at 6:45 by the bus-and that's with driving her to the last stop-it would be 6:15 if she got on at our house!)-I felt lost all day yesterday with the 3 oldest girls gone, but...........

I am enjoying myself right now!

I'm going to go fold some laundry but.............I get to do it in a quiet house, with nobody asking me for anything while I watch soap operas .........somehow that makes up for it a bit!
