Father's Day

This week's Picnic Table Talk Topic (try to say that 3 times fast!) is Father's Day. I haven't been part of Table Talk the last two weeks because the kids have been sick so I'm happy to be a part of it this week.

This is going to be another "darn, I wish I had my computer back so I could share pictures" post because my girls made the cutest Father's Day presents at school. They were so proud of them and couldn't wait to give them to their dad!

My soon-to-be-tomorrow 9 year old wrote her dad an acrostic poem for My Dad Is A Great Catch so although I can't share the art work, I thought I'd share the poem to celebrate my husband-an awesome dad!

Mighty
You are the best!

Does things for me
Awesome at sports
Dad

I love you
So cool

All mine

Great guy
Right away when he gets home, he kisses me
Easy to get along with
A hit
Too cool

Can't live without him
A major cool dad
Tight hugs
Coolest dad ever
Has a big heart

Thank you to all the great dads out there!

Oh, this is so great, Dawn! I am a huge fan of acrostic poems. I used to have my students do them ALL THE TIME. It's such a quick, fun, easy way to share some thoughts. Hope your computer gets back to you soon...I'd love to see the project pics!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi, just found your site:) What a beautiful poem to Dad! I love poetry from children it's direct and straight from the heart:)

Now when he gets older and gets mad at Dad you can pull it out and say, "No No, don't get mad, remember how you felt in this poem sweetie?"
