My first project of the fall........

and while it should be cleaning my house..........it's not, it's something much cuter and much more fun!
Now that the weather is cooler, I've really felt like sewing and crafting again. I didn't do much over the summer with the heat, the girls home and camping. Oh, I didn't realize how much I missed my machine and glue gun.
A couple of weeks ago, I purchased the Molly Peasant Dress pattern from YCMT. When I first saw it here , I thought it was adorable and fell in love with it. It came out so cute and is one of the easiest patterns I have ever worked with-so, so, so much easier than patterns from the big pattern companies. The instructions are very clear and straightfoward. It really was a fun pattern to work on!!
My 6 year old loves her dress and it looks so cute with leggings under it.
Now, she's suppose to have yellow leggings on that I got from Lands End for 50% off the sale price-score! but do you think I could find them the day she wore this to school-of course not, they are in this house somewhere though-she tried them on with the dress-but where is the question! I'm sure in a couple of days, I'll walk into a room or open a drawer and remember oh yeah, that's where I put them and I'll remember why I put them there and why it was such a good idea at the time.
Maybe it's too bad this post isn't about fall cleaning, because maybe I would have found the leggings.

You did a great job on the dress! I get squeamish when my son asks me to sew a button on his pants!

Dawn, that dress turned out absolutely adorable!!!! I've been meaning to make this dress for my girls and just haven't yet. You have inspired me to get going! It's darling and I love the leggings underneath, too.

That is so cute! I always want to sew, but I don't know how to read a pattern. Plus, I have no patience.
